Discover what makes us a special hotel
This former monastery is located in Portalegre, in a lush forest setting in the Serra de São Mamede Mountains. The decoration includes various historical armor, weapons and antiques. The surrounding garden features a large outdoor pool. Free WiFi is available in all areas of the property.
We serve a breakfast buffet with regional and homemade products for you every day. In spring and summer you are welcome to enjoy your breakfast on the terrace and let your gaze wander over the historic ruins of the former monastery and the surrounding countryside. Light dishes and full meals can also be offered upon prior request.
At the pool, which is 7 m x 15 m, in the garden you will always find a shady spot to relax. In cold weather, the monastery lounge offers a cozy setting for reading by the fireplace.
A number of hiking trails have been laid out around the hotel so that you can explore the beautiful countryside all around. Furthermore, our donkeys are always a pleasure for the little guests.

All rooms and suites at the Convento Da Provença have terracotta floors, satellite TV, a fridge and fly screens. The bathrooms come with a hairdryer and toiletries.

Absolut ruhige Lage etwas ausserhalb, aber mit dem Auto ist man schnell in Portallegre. Sehr schöne Gartenanlage mit einem tollen Swimmingpool. Frühstück war sehr gut.

The hotel was really amazing. It is an old Convent and they still have some amazing pieces all around the hotel. Great location, breakfast buffet with fresh products, lovely bread and fruit salad. The host noticed that the scrambled eggs were empty and made us some fresh ones. The pool is fabulous, and I had a little swim before breakfast :-) We were completely relaxed after our stay. It was so serene... no stress...watching the stars with a G&T on the terrace...We will certainly be back when we are in the neighborhood.

The moment we walked in we felt welcomed and relaxed. The hearthwarming family will do anything to make your stay the best. For anyone who wants a few (or more) nights away to relax and come to peace. The rooms are very clean. Breakfast is great. We would book this again, without any doubt.
